Electroplating

Electroplating is an important part of watchmakers and customizing companies. Movements are made of brass and then nickel plated, gold plated or rhodium plated. Once you movement has been refined with engravings or skeletonization the surface must then be plated. These days movements are mostly rhodium plated. Rhodium is a noble metal and silver-white property similarities with platinum or palladium. The advantage of rhodium compared to white gold is that rhodium is bright and a lot more shiny. The reflective brilliance Rhodium is of a much higher quality than platinum or white gold. Rhodium costs more than gold or platinum, as it is one of the rarest metals in the world.
