Watches with "Salmon Dial", i.e. salmon-colored dials, have a very long tradition in watchmaking, dating back to the 1930s. Classic watches usually have three dial colors: white, black or blue. Colorful dials like green, red or yellow were hardly used at all. That didn't go with classic watches. Salmon-colored dials, on the other hand, were used much more frequently, but only for the very special editions. Most of the time, limited models were equipped with this dial color, or when a tourbillon was built into a model. A salmon colored dial has always been a sign of something very special, and something very rare. Salmon-colored watches from well-known watch manufacturers often achieve top prices at auctions today. Watches with this dial color are the rarest of any collector's collection.
