Art Deco MA (printed dial) 40

Approx. period 1940 - 1960

This Art Deco model uses a dial with printed numerals and blued steel hands. As a result, this watch looks sportier and younger than the other Art Deco variants. Even then - from 1935 - when the Art Deco era was actually over, there was still a high demand for Art Deco watches. During and after World War II, however, most customers were no longer as solvent as before. So the market also demanded cheaper variants. The Art Deco pocket watches of the 1920s, with gold numerals and hands, mainly used an 18k gold case and were relatively expensive. In order to produce the watches more cheaply, many manufacturers eventually resorted to stainless steel or nickel cases. At that time, the numerals were also printed inexpensively instead of using gold appliqué. To increase readability, blued steel hands have been installed.
