Skeleton 43

Approximate Period 1960 -2000

Available in three sizes - 40 mm, 43 mm or 45 mm (stainless steel or rose gold plated)

Tourby is famous for its ornate skeleton watches. Here the standard Unitas 6498-1 Hand-wound movement is refined into a true work of art. It can be chosen in various stages of refinment. The entry level model comes in the "standard finish" with skeletonization, blued screws, skeletonized and polished winding wheels, bevelled edges and goldplating. As you can see we offer the highest standard in watchmaking and fine finishes. The next level is avaliable with a goldplated barrel, hour and minute wheel to contrast with the rhodium-plated movement. The winding wheels are flame blued by hand and the teeth are then polish. The highest level we offer is the elaborately hand engraved "High Finish". All watches have a 43mm case (40 mm, 42 mm, 45 mm is available on request) and two sapphire crystals that are treated with double antireflective coatings. The hands are flame-blued and the bracelets are made of genuine Louisiana Alligator. Rounding out the watch is a folding clasp and a very high quality leather box.

All movements are shock-proof according to DIN 8308 standard and anti-magnetic according to DIN standard 8309th

Standard Finish

The standard finish is already a very high quality finish. The movement is completely skeletonised on both the bridges and plates as well as various components (barrel, hour wheel, driving wheel, Winkelheblfeder, winding wheels, etc.). The movement has blued screws, bevelled edges, polished winding wheels and is fully rhodium plated. In light of these details maybe we should rethink the name "standard finish" for this model. But you can see for the quality for yourself:

Available in stainless steel (2,000.00 Euro) or rose gold plated (2,200.00 Euro) watch case.

High Finish (Hand Engraved)

The high finish models provide the highest finishing level in this collection. Here the complete movement is engraved by hand. The price for this model is  4,000.00 Euro with stainless steel or 4,200.00 Euro with rose gold plated watch case

Half Skeleton

The "Skeleton Dial" models have a skeletonized and hand engraved movement. The open parts of dial and provides unobstructed view of the beautiful movement without compromising the readability of the time. With the skeletonised models reading the exact time is not really very easy. Nevertheless a watch is still a measuring instrument and should therefore, as in this model, combining both the beauty of the movement and the legibility with a half dial.  . The results speak for themselves.
