BAND

Choose between rubber band or steel bracelet

Rubber Band

The rubber strap was designed specifically for the watch and fits the lugs perfectly, leaving no gap. However, this strap is available only in a standard size, suitable for wrists measuring 15 – 18.5 cm.

Steel Bracelet

The steel bracelet tapers from 22 mm to 18 mm and features an adjustable clasp that allows the size to be increased or decreased in five increments while the watch is still on the wrist. The bracelet can be adjusted via its links and fits wrist circumferences ranging from 15 - 25 cm.

DATE

Date or No-Date

No Date

The Clean model comes without a date

Of course, we removed the date mechanism so it doesn't advance (ghost date) and also changed the spring so that the winding stem has only two positions.

Date

You can also take it with a date

We produced a custom date disc with a black background and larger numerals. This makes the date display very subtle, yet still legible when needed. The date window features a frame to give it a more premium look.

Wrist Check

The design of the Lawless dates back to 2009. Developed in collaboration with Australian diver Brendan Lawless, who also gave the watch its name, the goal was to create a diver's watch with a clean yet distinctive identity. At a time when many manufacturers were producing little more than Submariner-inspired designs, Tourby deliberately chose a different path. The company wanted to add a professional dive watch to its collection, but creating another Submariner clone was never an option. For a small independent watchmaker, establishing a unique design in the market was no easy task.

From the very beginning, Brendan Lawless insisted that the watch should meet the highest technical standards. While many well-established brands still relied on bezels with a basic 60-click mechanism, Tourby already featured a more precise 120-click bezel. A water resistance of 500 meters represented the highest technical standard achievable at the time, reflecting the uncompromising engineering behind the watch. Naturally, the bezel featured a ceramic insert rather than the metal inserts commonly used by many manufacturers. The dial and hands were carefully designed to provide outstanding legibility under water, while the watch itself had to remain exceptionally secure on the wrist. To achieve this, Tourby developed a custom rubber strap that integrates seamlessly into the lugs without leaving even the slightest gap. What may seem like a simple detail today was, at the time, a remarkable engineering achievement.

Tourby has long been renowned for its beautifully decorated movements. However, the pressure requirements of a professional dive watch made a sapphire exhibition case back impossible. Instead, the company created a case back that is every bit as impressive as one of its decorated movements. To produce the deeply embossed three-dimensional engraving, a particularly rare and comparatively soft grade of stainless steel was selected. This was essential, as the stamping equipment is typically designed to work only with materials such as brass or copper. The result is a dive watch crafted with exceptional attention to detail—one that remains both technically advanced and visually distinctive to this day.

Live Pictures

No-Date model with rubber strap

You can only see the quality of the watches from live-pictures. All watches look great on official product images, even the cheap ones. But in order to get an accurate feeling of the watches, you have to hold them in your hand. These often have a completely different effect. However, since our customers mostly order online and cannot view the watches beforehand, our pictures must be as authentic as possible.

The case back

The showpiece of the watch is the stamped steel case back. It is a first in the watchmaking industry to apply this intricate engraving to the hard stainless steel with such great detail. The very deep engraving creates a kind of 3D character of the image. We gave our case maker a very difficult task and accepted the extremely high cost to produce this intricate engraving. The cost of the engraved back is 5 times the cost of a normal steel back. Although this type of engraving has never been tried before, we took on this project not to come out with just any diving watch, but to create something new and original. However, as with all our watches, we keep the design very simple and timeless.
