In the "Tourby Around The World" models, 5 clocks (representing the respective continents of Europe, America, Asia, Australia and Arabia) were provided with hand paintings. The hand-painted dials show sections of a centuries-old seafaring world map. This work was applied by a very well-known American artist (with European roots) in a very complex and filigree way. Only through personal contact and after repeated requests did the artist agree to paint the dials for Tourby. Since her pictures are sold for large sums worldwide, she had no need for further orders. But she liked the idea so much that she made an exception for us. Of course, you should never push a true artist or set a time limit. So Tourby waited over 4 years until the dials were finally delivered. And as you can see, the long wait was worth it.
